Formed initially of the incredibly talented drummer Zac Kavanagh and his bassist father Dave and now aided by saxophonist Riddell Thomas, ZD Grafters’ 2024 album Three Little Birds is a blast – literally. Consisting of eight explosions of freeform music underpinned by scuzzy, overdriven bass, Riddell’s squalling sax assaults and Zac’s intricate, innovative drums are the real focus.
